Wellness Exchange: Helpful Thinking
Wellness Exchange is intended to help you increase your coping and self-efficacy through strengthening skills for managing the stressors of daily life. Building these skills helps you become more resilient so that you can cope better during stressful events, such as COVID-19. These skills will also help you manage life’s little stressors (e.g., sitting in traffic, waiting in line, dealing with difficult situations) and feel more in control of your life. Wellness Exchange encourages self-reflection and teaches five main skills: problem solving, positive activities, managing reactions, helpful thinking, and healthy connections.

Helpful Thinking – Why is this important?
• Our thoughts have an impact on how we see the world, how we feel and how we behave
• Shifting our unhelpful patterns to include helpful thinking is important to:
- help increase our confidence in coping with stressors
- improve our mood
- reduce the intensity of our reactions
