Wellness Exchange: Healthy Connections
Wellness Exchange is intended to help you increase your coping and self-efficacy through strengthening skills for managing the stressors of daily life. Building these skills helps you become more resilient so that you can cope better during stressful events, such as COVID-19. These skills will also help you manage life’s little stressors (e.g., sitting in traffic, waiting in line, dealing with difficult situations) and feel more in control of your life. Wellness Exchange encourages self-reflection and teaches five main skills: problem solving, positive activities, managing reactions, helpful thinking, and healthy connections.

Healthy Connections – Why are these important?
• Social support and connecting with others helps us feel a sense of belonging and reduces the feeling of isolation that can occur when stressors increase
• Maintaining our healthy connections helps to meet our emotional and practical needs, and helps us feel reassured, understood, needed and wanted
• Building healthy social connections helps increase our confidence, overall effectiveness, and flexibility when handling life-changing events and problems
